You have already taken the first steps to success by acknowledging that the life you are living is not the life that God designed.
Ask Jesus to come into your life. Ask him to be Lord and Savior. Ask for his help. It is only by His power that you will be able to have complete freedom.

If you have the desire to change, know right now that you can change! You must choose to live differently. You need to find a new playground and new playmates.
It is a deliberate choice and takes some effort on your part, but the reward is freedom. When Jesus encountered the man at the pool of Bethesda, He asked him, do you want to get well? When the man answered affirmatively, Jesus told him to Get up, pick up your mat and walk. John 5:5-8
Do you want to be free? If the answer is yes, you've got to make some new choices in your life. Get up! Take up your bed, and walk. Just do it! I know it's not easy, but choices turn into habit and habits turn into lifestyles.
There is an often repeated axiom that states, if you go about something the same way, you're going to continue to get the same results.
Now is time to live the exchanged life.
Your present lifestyle for God's preferred lifestyle.
What are you waiting for? Most of you have read every book, every study. You've been counseled by the best and the brightest. Spend some time in bible study. Find out what the Word of God says.
OK, so you know what the Word says. So I'll ask again, what are you waiting for? Another relationship? The right relationship? Right!
If you truly desire to be God's people, don't continue to mock God. Psalms 111:10 says, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom..." If you had the wisdom to fear the Lord, you would seek to make your relationship right with him.
You will go through a period that seems like mourning. It is.
You will go through a lonely period that seems like withdrawal. It is.
You may need to work out some forgiveness and bitterness that has locked you in to a pattern of defeat.
Learn to Forgive.
You will go through a process of unfolding. You are becoming the person you really are; the person God created you to be.
We've spent so much of our lives in hiding. Now is the time when we are actully like a caterpillar becoming a butterfly. You may want to do some cocooning. Draw away from the crowd. Get alone with God and search His word. Let Him minister to you.
God has promised never to leave us or forsake us.
You know deep in your heart that you are not where you are supposed to be. That's the Holy Spirit convicting you.
