ON FORGIVENESS

Matthew 6:12, 14-15 "Forgive us our debts as we also have forgiven our debtors. ...For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But If you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins."

In the passage on giving. Matthew 6:38 "It says with the same measure that you use, it will be given back to you."

We ask for forgiveness, but Jesus tells us to forgive first. Many people are praying for God to act in their behalf...to deliver them...to help them.

Have you forgiven or helped anybody lately? The bible teaches us that when we ask God for something, He's going to ask us for something. He's going to use that same measure of grace, of forgiveness, of blessing that we have used for our brothers and sisters. That's the measure that He's going to use for us. Give and it shall be given to you! Forgive as we also have...Love the Lord your God with all you heart...and love your neighbor as...

While on the road to wholeness, we may unearth some scars. Maybe it was repressed, suppressed, depressed, hidden. Maybe it wasn't forgotten at all, but it continues to eat away at you.

Forgive! and Let go of the past. It's over. It may have been painful but it's over! You are an overcomer. Paul said we are more than conquerors through Christ who loved us. (Rom 8:37) He didn't say we can be, we should be, but we ARE. Bitterness and unforgiveness will work to destroy you. Your health will suffer, your mind is not at rest, you won't make good decisions, all because of something that happened in your past.

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. (Gal. 5:1) Get Free. Christ came that we might have life! Not for us to continue to be bound by a yoke of slavery.

Whoever hurt you has probably gone on to other things and you are carrying around this burden. Don't let unwillingness to forgive stand in the way of your complete deliverance. Dump it! Be a Victor! Christ died so that we may be victorious and complete.
