The Vision...To be a Ray of Hope to persons struggling with the life altering choices they have made. Restoring the broken, Reclaiming the lost and Renouncing sin.
To be a light in the midst of confusion and darkness encouraging persons to be doers of the word, not just hearers only.
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds! Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
(2Cor. 10:3-5 KJV)
This is not hand to hand combat ladies and gentlemen. This is spiritual warfare and our weapons are:
- The Word of God, through study.
- Prayer, for divine intervention.
- The Church, for growth in the knowledge of God.
- One another, through accountability.
- And, may I suggest that you are weapons of warfare when equipped with the Holy Spirit that lives in you, and clothed in the full armor of God, you are mighty defensive weapons guarding your hearts, minds and souls through Christ Jesus!
Satan's power is in the lie. The bible says that there is no truth in him. He is the father of lies. (John 8:44)He has no power over you except what you give him when you believe his lies. You break his power when you expose the lie, receive the truth, and begin to live in it.
It's the Lord's battle. But, we are both weapon and plunder. We have to be dressed for the battle so that we can defend ourselves from attack.
In Ephesians 6 beginning with verse 10, Paul tells us to, be strong in the Lord and in the power of HIS might. The battle is not yours, it's the Lord's. That's why it has been such a struggle for you. You are not equipped to free yourself. Paul tells us that we have to put on the FULL armor of God. It's like getting into a ring with a professional boxer. You can run around the ring and duck and dodge, but sooner or later, you're gonna get clobbered.
Oh, but wouldn't you like to get into that ring with a full set of body armor? That enemy will hurt himself trying to hurt you.
But, that is exactly what we have available to us as Christians. The FULL armor of God.
So, go ahead. Put on the belt of truth. The only way to dispel a lie, is with the truth. Some of you have built your whole existence, up to this point, on a lie. May I suggest to you that you are not homosexual at all. That word and all of the others that you have allowed the world to label you with has nothing to do with who you really are.
You are who God says you are. Read His word to find out all of the wonderful things He says about those who belong to Him.
There are Christians who spend a lot of time talking about what the bible doesn't say. We look for excuses for our behavior. God gave us the bible so that we would learn about Him and about how to treat one another, by what it does say.
If you are a Christian, begin to learn about and do what the bible says. Don't allow yourself to be deceived by those who want to argue what it doesn't say.
Paul says in verse 14 for us to put on the breastplate of righteousness. We have to guard our hearts.
Prov 28:14 says blessed is the man who always fears(reveres, honors) the Lord, but he who hardens his heart falls into trouble.
Fear the Lord, Prov. 9:10 says that's the beginning of wisdom. Don't harden your heart by continuing to find ways to rationalize your behavior. Rationale to do wrong is easy to find.
You are not alone in your struggle. Others have come through the fire and are living in victory. I wouldn't be writing this if I didn't understand the struggle. There is light at the end of the tunnel, and it is a marvelous light! Keep walking towards it!
Know that the life that you are living is not part of God's plan for you. With His help, you are able to live the Victorious Christian life. You can be free of same-sex attraction and whatever other addictions you may have. Christ came that we might have life and have it more abundantly. John 10:10
He sent the Counselor, the Comforter, the Holy Spirit to lead us into all truth and to help us live the Christian life.
He is there to help us, but He can't live the life for us. We have to do the work.
We also pray for the Church. The Church plays an important part in the salvation and growth of Christian souls. We pray for maturity in the Church regarding their prodigal sons and daughters as they return to the fold. Jesus commanded us to love one another. The church must love, nurture and care for God's people. All of them.
